The Pinal County Board of Supervisors convened at 3:00 p.m. this date. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Miller.

 

Members Present: Chairman Stephen Q. Miller; Vice-Chairman Jeffrey McClure; Supervisor Rich Vitiello; Supervisor Mike Goodman; Supervisor Jeff Serdy

(1)Executive Session pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.03(A)(3) about a potential conflict with the County Attorney's Office regarding employment issues, and the possible retention of outside legal counsel to represent the Board. (Sherry Leckrone/Gina Godbehere)

(2)Approval/disapproval as to whether the Pinal County Board of Supervisors believes a conflict of interest exist with the County Attorney's Office regarding employment issues. (Stephen Q. Miller)
Item Action: Approved that the Board of Supervisors believes there is a potential conflict of interest with the County Attorney's Office regarding employment issues

(A) Approval/dispproval if the County Attorney agrees that a conflict of interest exist to retain outside counsel to represent the Pinal County Board of Supervisors with regard to employment matters related to the County Attorney’s Office based on the unavailability of the County Attorney to represent the County in the matter, due to a conflict of interest and authorize the County Manager to retain outside legal counsel to represent the Board in the conflict matter. 

OR

(B) If the County Attorney disagrees that there is a conflict of interest: Approval/disapproval to retain outside counsel to represent the Pinal County Board of Supervisors with regard to whether the County Attorney has a conflict of interest or lack of harmony that precludes him from representing the County with regard to employment matters related to the County Attorney’s office, and to take such steps as are necessary to determine whether the County can or should retain outside conflict of interest counsel.
