Chairman Serdy offered for the Invocation by Pastor John Johnson, Desert Hope Presbyterian Church, Florence, AZ and the pledge of allegiance by Supervisor Miller.

 

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors convened at 9:35 a.m. this date. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Serdy with the announcement the Board may take a Recess around 12:45 p.m. to attend the Ribbon Cutting of the Pinal County Public Defense Building.

This grant will be used by the Office of Budget and Finance to execute the strategic goals of the Pinal County Coalition to End Homelessness and contract with Arizona Town Hall to facilitate the Coalition's Reentry Roundtable. Acceptance requires an amendment to the FY23/24 budget to transfer reserve appropriation from Fund 213 (Grants/Project Contingency) to Fund 266 (MISC Grants) to increase revenues and expenditures. *R.Discussion/approval/disapproval of the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) Data Sharing Agreement No. 235533 and Internal Data Sharing Agreements No. 235540 (Central Arizona College), No. 235541 (Equus Workforce Solutions) and No. 235542 (Chicanos Por La Causa). Internal Data Sharing agreements allow contracted providers of ARIZONA@WORK Pinal County services access to Unemployment Insurance (UI) data for program performance tracking. The Pinal County Board of Supervisors has an UI data-sharing agreement (DSA) with the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES)/Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS). This DSA has been in place since December 2017. However, DES has required the County and our service providers to update our DSAs to a 5-year agreement due to constant changes in technology, which results in the need for approval of these agreements. Deputy Larson #1330 has requested that, in compliance with established precedence and protocol, he be permitted to purchase his PCSO issued duty weapon(s) identified as Glock 17 at $25 and Smith and Wesson AR15 at $330. Fair market value for Glock is approximately $420 and Fair market value for the Smith and Wesson AR15 is $330. Purchase of issued weapon(s) upon retirement is also in compliance with A.R.S. 28-1115A which allows a law enforcement officer upon his/her retirement to purchase his/her issued weapon(s) at a price determined by the administrator of the agency. The donations will be used for the annual event held at the San Tan and Coolidge Walmarts. This event is held for Pinal Families who are in need. Each family and/or child who is nominated has had or experienced trauma or a hardship in their life. These donations will support up to 20 families at each Walmart. Approval requires a FY 23/24 budget amendment to transfer budget capacity from Fund 10 (Sheriff) to Fund 10 (Information Technology) to reduce expenditure appropriations in Information Technology and increase expenditure appropriations in the Sheriff's Office. Pursuant to A.R.S. 48-2681.C, the Magma Flood Control District Board Members are requesting that the Pinal County Board of Supervisors appoint Terrel Brad Hinton "Brad" to the Board of the Magma Flood Control District for a term of four years (A.R.S 48-2661.B).
