BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION:
Discussion/approval/disapproval of an Intergovernmental Agreement between Pinal County and Gila County in which the Pinal County Medical Examiner's Office (PCMEO) shall provide medicolegal death investigation and forensic autopsy services for jurisdictional deaths that occur within the geographical boundaries of Gila County. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FISCAL CONSIDERATIONS AND/OR EXPECTED FISCAL IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM:
Approval of this IGA will result in $394,000 in general fund revenue.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM:
An IGA to provide medical examiner services to Gila County has been in place since 2020. As such, the PCMEO is well-adjusted to the Gila County caseload. Approval of this agreement will have no significant impact on the PCMEO's day-to-day operations.
