BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION:
Discussion/approval/disapproval of the request by the Hon. Patricia Glover, Western Pinal Justice of the Peace, for the appointment of Christa Beavers as Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore. Request by Hon. Ellie Brown, Copper Corridor Justice of the Peace, for the appointment of Darenda Day as Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore. Said appointments will be made by the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court upon approval of the Board of Supervisors. (Hon. Patricia Glover/Hon. Ellie Brown)

No additional budget funds are required as funds previously budgeted for FY24/25 are sufficient.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM:
While serving as Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore, Christa Beavers and Darenda Day will suspend their duties as Judicial Officer Manager/Supervisor for the Western Pinal Justice Court and Copper Corridor Justice Court. To comply with Pinal County Human Resources payroll requirements, they will complete separate timesheets for each role, detailing hours worked. These timesheets will be submitted to Court Administration each pay period. Additionally, if they serve as Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore during their regular work hours, they may not use accrued vacation hours or make up missed time outside of regular court business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday).
Honorable Patricia Glover and Honorable Ellie Brown to ensure compliance with all Judicial Canons and required judicial training by the administrative office of courts. The Presiding Judge of the Superior Court has approved their service as Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore with duties limited to: Initial Appearances, Arraignments, Civil Traffic Hearings/Trials, Small Claims Hearings/Trials, and Warrant Quashes requested by motion.
