Discussion/approval/disapproval of a Strategic Alliance Agreement with the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) to provide economic development services for the period of January 1, 2024, through June 30, 2024. GPEC's services will include marketing and promotion of the County, prospecting for additional businesses in targeted industries, and strengthening regional economic development cooperation.
It is important to note that this agreement will ensure that all Pinal County communities will be provided services by GPEC. Currently, Apache Junction, Queen Creek, Maricopa, and Casa Grande are members, and this agreement will not change the memberships those communities have in GPEC. The County is authorized by A.R.S. 11-254 and 11-254.04 to conduct and make expenditures for economic development activities which are determined by the Board to assist in the creation or retention of jobs or otherwise promote the economic welfare of the inhabitants of the County.
