BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION: Discussion/approval/disapproval for Award Agreement 15PBJA-23-GG-00707-JAGP under the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance and Pinal County through the Pinal County Board of Supervisors beginning October 1, 2023, ending September 30, 2026, for $552,424. This grant will be used by the Pinal County Attorney’s Office to obtain a NIBIN (ballistics database) to be used by Pinal law enforcement agencies to address the increase in firearm related violent crime in Pinal County by identifying unlawfully used firearms and their sources, effectively prosecuting perpetrators engaged in violent crime, and developing a safer community. The funding was adopted in the FY23/24 budget. (Kent Volkmer)
