BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION:
Discussion/approval/disapproval of Resolution No. 120623-OST authorizing the submission of an application to Arizona State Parks and Trails for a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant (LWCF) for $1,000,000, and authorizing all actions necessary to implement and complete the activities outlined in the application. Match is required in the amount of $1,000,000. This grant will be used by Open Space and Trails Department for the Palo Verde Regional Park development. Supervisor District #1. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FISCAL CONSIDERATIONS AND/OR EXPECTED FISCAL IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM:
If successful, the award of this grant will offset a portion of the development cost for Palo Verde Regional Park. Park design is in progress and we anticipate completion of design and final cost estimates to be complete in mid 2024.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM:
Development of regional parks is consistent with the Pinal County Comprehensive and Open Space and Trails Plan. Regional park development is also aligned with the County Strategic Priorities; “Infrastructure and Asset Management” and Balanced and Flexible Growth”.
