Discussion/approval/disapproval to accept the FY 23/24 Senate Bill 1720 Local Border Support appropriation through the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Border Strike Force Funding Department to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office through the Pinal County Board of Supervisors beginning July 1, 2023, ending June 30, 2024, for $1,000,000. These funds will be used to support the Anti-Smuggling Unit (ASU), the Pinal County Narcotics Task Force (PCNTF), and our Gang and Habitual Offender Strike Team (GHOST) Unit. The acceptance requires an amendment to the FY 23/24 budget to transfer reserve appropriation from Fund 213 (Grants/Project Contingency) to Fund 203 (Sheriff’s Grants) to increase revenue and expenditure appropriations.
