BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION: |
Discussion/approval/disapproval of Award Agreement No. AG23-0016-017 under the FY2023 Family Advocacy Center Fund between the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and Pinal County through the Pinal County Board of Supervisors beginning January 1, 2023, ending December 31, 2023, for $19,365.73. This grant will be used by the Pinal County Attorney's Office San Tan Family Advocacy Center to update equipment and supplies and provide staff training to assist victims of crime. The funding was adopted in the FY22/23 budget. (Kent Volkmer) |

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM: |
In December 2018, a multi-state judgment was reached by the Office of Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich. During the 2020 legislative sessions, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office (AGO) worked with the Arizona Legislature to re-appropriate monies from civil settlements for the purpose of establishing a fund to provide grant support to Child and Family Advocacy Center’s (CFAC). This award will assist the Pinal County Attorney’s Office San Tan Family Advocacy Center with funds to update items for the center that will provide a safe and comfortable environment for victims. |
