BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION:
Discussion/approval/disapproval of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) request to modify the Wage and Salary Administration for Detention Officers, “PCSO Detention Step Plan”, allowing for lateral hires to be placed on a pay step in the Plan with credit given on a year for year basis for each full year verified, creditable experience as a detention or correctional officer. Currently the Plan allows for one-half year credit for each full year credited service with another agency. The change allowing for full year for year credited service is consistent with the PCSO Step Plan for Deputy Sheriffs and requested in order to enhance recruitment efforts for this difficult to fill position.
