BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION:
Discussion/approval/disapproval of the Transfer of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA –Public Law 113-128) grant funds from the Dislocated Worker Program to the Adult Program. WIOA regulations allow for the transfer of funds between the programs to allow for flexibility to provide services in areas of greatest need. At the request of the contracted service provider (Equus Workforce Solutions) the Pinal County Workforce Development Board approved a request for the transfer of Program Year 2021 funds in the amount of $314,682 from the Dislocated Worker Program allocation to the Adult Program. These funds expire on June 30, 2023. Transfer of such funds will allow ARIZONA@WORK Pinal County to continue to invest in Pinal County citizens who are eligible for Adult services. The transfer will not impact the ability to continue to operate the Dislocated Worker Program as adequate funding remains for this purpose. (Joel Millman/James Smith)
