BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION:
Discussion/approval/disapproval to submit a grant application to the Arizona Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family, STOP Violence Against Women Grant for $124,994. If awarded, there will be a 25% match contribution of $41,665. This grant will be used by the Pinal County Attorney’s Office to provide services to victims of crime. The STOP Violence against Women grant will continue to focus on the implementation of a multidisciplinary, trauma-informed approach to working with female victims of violent crimes. This fund will pay for two Victim Advocates to serve as points of contact for female victims of sexual and domestic violence whose cases have been investigated, but not yet charged. (Kent Volkmer)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FISCAL CONSIDERATIONS AND/OR EXPECTED FISCAL IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM: The award will be used for Salaries, EREs for the PCAO Victim Services division. The grant proceeds will fund (2) Victim Advocate positions. This grant has been budgeted for FY22/23.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM: These positions will allow PCAO to continue to effectively and efficiently operate the case management load within Victim Services.
