| BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION: |
| Discussion/approval/disapproval of an application by the Pinal County Attorney for use of up to $25,000 of anti-racketeering funds for the purchase of data analysis software and for a vendor to assist the Casa Grande Police Department with the application of high-temp paint and VIN etching of vehicle catalytic converters as part of their trafficking prevention program. This request is made in accordance with and under the authority of A.R.S. 13-2314.03 whereby before the County Attorney's office may use any monies from the fund that the County Attorney submit an application that includes a description of what the requested monies will be used for to the Board of Supervisors for approval. | BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FISCAL CONSIDERATIONS AND/OR EXPECTED FISCAL IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM: |
| There will be no fiscal impact to the general fund as there is sufficient funding within the Pinal County Attorney’s Office RICO Fund. |
| BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM: |
| The Pinal County Attorney's Office is submitting this application for use of up to $25,000 for the purchase of data analysis software used by the Investigations Bureau to assist Pinal County agencies in the investigations of violent crimes, drug trafficking organizations, prostitution, child sex trafficking organizations, money laundering and various other crimes. In addition, the Pinal County Attorney’s Office is submitting this application for a vendor to assist the Casa Grande Police Department with their catalytic converter trafficking prevention program. The vendor will use high-temp paint and VIN etching to dozens of vehicles during this program to aid in the prevention of trafficking of these stolen parts from vehicles. |
