BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AGENDA ITEM AND REQUESTED BOARD ACTION: Discussion/approval/disapproval of the Training Awards on Technology-Facilitated Child Sexual Exploitation/Child Pornography grant award, number FLOR-AZ-TDTVF21, between the National Children's Alliance (NCA), and the Pinal County Attorney's Office, through the Pinal County Board of Supervisors, for a total of $21,533.75. The award will be used to provide training in child pornography and trafficking to the County Attorney's San Tan Valley Family Advocacy Center. Acceptance requires an amendment to the FY 20/21 budget to transfer reserve appropriation from Fund 213 (Grants/Project Contingency) to Fund 268 (CO Atty Misc Grants) to increase revenue and expenditure appropriations. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPECTED PERFORMANCE IMPACT OF THIS AGENDA ITEM: In today’s technology rich climate, youth are at a higher risk for victimization through trafficking and sexually exploitive images. It is important that Advocacy Staff working with these victims stay at the forefront of research and knowledge in order to provide competent and trauma informed services to these victims. This award will enhance the knowledge and skills of the FAC staff providing these services.
